Meet Mrs. Desirae
Creating a community where little learners grow through play, families build lasting friendships, and every child feels seen, valued, and inspired to learn
Hi, I'm Desirae!
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn a little more about me and the heart behind Toddler University Co-op.
Early childhood education isn't just my career; it's truly my passion. I have spent five years working in preschool classrooms, beginning as a floater working with multiple age groups, then as an assistant teacher, and eventually as a lead teacher in my own classroom. Each role helped shape me into the educator I am today and strengthened my belief that every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and valued.
I am passionate about lifelong learning and continually expanding my knowledge of child development and best teaching practices. I have attended numerous early childhood education conferences and professional development trainings, earned my Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, and am currently pursuing my Bachelor's degree. I believe that the more I continue to learn, the more I can give back to the children and families I serve.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every child is unique and learns best through meaningful experiences, hands-on exploration, and positive social interaction. Early childhood is about so much more than learning letters and numbers, it's about building confidence, curiosity, kindness, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
The inspiration for Toddler University Co-op began when I became a mom. After stepping away from the classroom to stay home with my children, I began searching for enrichment programs and co-op opportunities for young learners. I quickly realized there were very few options available for children between the ages of 1 and 4.
That's when the idea for Toddler University Co-op was born.
I wanted to create the kind of program I had been searching for, a place where young children could learn through play, explore new experiences, build friendships, and develop foundational skills in a welcoming, nurturing environment. Just as importantly, I wanted to create a community where parents felt connected, supported, and involved in their child's learning journey.
Today, Toddler University Co-op has grown into exactly that. Families gather each week for circle time, music and movement, story time, sensory play, hands-on learning activities, and creative crafts all thoughtfully planned to make learning engaging, meaningful, and fun.
Inclusion is at the heart of everything I do. Every child, regardless of their background, abilities, or learning style, deserves opportunities to learn, grow, and feel a true sense of belonging. My goal is to create an environment where every family feels welcomed, respected, and supported.
I also believe that the strongest learning happens when educators and families work together. Parent partnership is one of the foundations of Toddler University Co-op, and I truly value the relationships I have built with the families in our community. Your feedback, ideas, and involvement help shape this program and allow it to continue growing.
It is an honor to be part of your child's early learning journey. Thank you for trusting me with these precious early years. I can't wait to continue learning, growing, and creating lasting memories together through Toddler University Co-op.
